ESI Privacy Statement
Protecting your privacy is a top priority to us. We hope that the following information will help you to understand how we collect and handle the personal information we obtain and how we may or may not share it. In addition it is important to us that you understand how we safeguard the personal information you provide to us.
Information we Collect from You
You may voluntarily register with the eScrip program and/or the escrip.com site. When you register, you will be asked to provide your name, address, telephone number, email address and grocery loyalty and/or credit and debit cards numbers. You will also be asked to designate a participating school or organization as the beneficiary of the contributions from purchases you make at participating eScrip merchants.
To participate in the eScrip Program, you must provide a grocery club card number, debit card number, or grocery club card number. In order to process contributions made in your name, ESI collects details of your transactions such as date of purchase and transaction amount from contributing companies, or third party processors.
ESI may also collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include your IP address, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks, domain names, access times and referring web site addresses. The eScrip program uses this information to administer the escrip.com web site, to detect any problems with servers, to maintain program quality and to track web traffic patterns. We will not track nor analyze data according to domain names or MIME information.
How we intend to Use your Information
ESI uses your personal information to operate the eScrip Program as well as to provide you with information, updates and special offers that relate to the eScrip Program. ESI does not license, sell or rent any personally identifiable information, to any third parties not associated with the eScrip Program. ESI may: (1) Disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties that are directly involved in providing the eScrip program, in which these third parties shall be prohibited from using your information except to the extent necessary to provide and/or market the eScrip Program to you. This marketing may be in the form of email and/or mail. These third parties that are directly involved with the eScrip Program shall be required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
ESI shall provide the following information to the designated school or organization of your choice: your name, address, telephone number, email address, whether or not you have debit/credit or grocery loyalty cards signed up on the program, total purchase amount made with your registered cards, total contribution paid in your name, and your enrollment date. Your organization will not receive any complete card numbers or specific purchase details. Purchase information shared with Program merchants is for the purpose of administering and auditing the Program.
Your registered card numbers will be kept confidential by ESI and will be disclosed by ESI only to participating merchants to calculate rebates, to Program processors, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. ESI may use certain third parties to provide marketing and to help administer the eScrip Program. Third parties may also be used to help us administer our grocery, credit and debit card programs. In order to obtain these specialized services, we may need to share personally identifiable information with these third parties, who will be bound by legal agreements not to use or disclose the information provided to them for any purpose other than the requested services for the eScrip Program.
ESI may disclose your personally identifiable information, without notice, in the following circumstances: (1) If required by law, (2) to protect and defend the rights and properties of ESI (3) to protect and defend the personal safety of the users of the eScrip Program (4) in the event of a business change such as a company acquisition or merger. If any of the above events occur ESI will place a prominent notification on the ESI website 30 days prior to any change in the disclosure policy.
Account Reporting Information
We will maintain records that keep track of your sign up/contact information as well as the contributions made in your name from your participation in the eScrip Program. You can use our website to view and/or update your "my eScrip" account profile as well as view the contributions paid in your name to your designated organization.
Cookies and Other Technology
ESI uses persistent cookies to deliver content specific to your profile and interests. A cookie is a text file that indicates your eScrip ID or session identification number. ESI uses cookies to (a) identify exitsting registered users so that they may receive a more optimized start up and session for registered users as opposed to new users or (b)to maintain session information and prevent the need for logged-in members to re-enter login and start up information when browsing outside of the escrip.com site. Some areas of the escrip.com site do not require or use cookies. However, certain features of the site are only available if cookies are enabled. Cookies cannot read any information from your hard drive or read cookie files from other websites.
Log Files
Similar to most standard website servers, ESI does use log files. This includes IP addresses; browser types, ISP, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information used by aggregators. IP addresses, etc. are not linked in any way to personally identifiable information, but merely used to analyze trends and deliver optimal web service.
Links to Other Websites
ESI provides links on its website to the websites of partners and affiliated merchants. ESI does not serve these merchants websites, and ESI does not have access to these merchants servers. ESI is not responsible for the processing of transactions or orders that are placed on these merchants websites, nor will ESI be responsible for the content or privacy practices of these affiliated merchants websites. If you have questions regarding the content or privacy practices of these affiliated merchants, please review their respective privacy policies or contact them directly.
Security Measures
Protecting your personal information is a top priority at ESI.
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The transfer of confidential information such as credit card numbers and financial data are communicated via state of-the-art encryption. ESI’s Web server and database reside behind a firewall in a secure datacenter with fault tolerance, offsite backup and firewall protection. ESI maintains a multi-tiered system with no direct access to the database.
Changing or Removing Information
If you would like to update, change or delete any information you have provided to ESI, please do so using the "my eScrip" link at www.escrip.com or email customer service. This information can also be faxed to us at 530-268- 4843 or mailed to ESI, P.O. Box 6988 Auburn, CA 95604-6988.
