About the eScrip Program

What is the eScrip program?

Introduced by Electronic Scrip Inc. (ESI), the eScrip program is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit card purchases to the school or nonprofit of your choice. eScrip offers all the benefits of paper-based fundraising programs (or “scrip”), but with an automated ease-of-use and expanded merchant offering. For streamlined, year-round fundraising that is easy to use, eScrip is the best fundraising tool in the toolbox. eScrip partners with merchants who give back a percentage of purchases made by you to the organizations you care about. Purchases are tracked through registered cards (store loyalty, credit/debit).

What am I signing up for?

During the registration process you are asked to register grocery or drug store cards, and credit/debit cards that you use when you shop. When you use any of these registered cards with an eScrip merchant, they pay-it-forward by donating a percentage of your purchase amounts to your chosen organizations. Remember to use your cards for every purchase, shop with eScrip merchants and you will automatically earn money for your school or nonprofit.

Every month the enrolled organizations receive all merchant contributions made on behalf of all supporters like you. A summarized report listing supporters, merchants, and contributions amounts are available online in your account.

How does my school or nonprofit get paid?

Your organization will receive an electronic deposit (if they've set this up with us) or a check into its bank account every month once minimum amount has been accumulated. This deposit will include contributions from all of their participating supporters.

Does my organization need to do anything special to get started?

Yes. Organizations must enroll or be enrolled with eScrip. If your group is not listed on our website, please direct them to escrip.com and click on “Schools and Nonprofits” and look for “Add your Organization”.

I currently purchase paper scrip, why should I sign up for eScrip too?

Why? Because it’s nifty! eScrip is a convenient and automatic way to fundraise for schools and nonprofits. You don’t need to pre-purchase paper certificates in advance of shopping, and you won’t run out of paper certificates, since earnings are tracked automatically with registered cards. We’ve got merchants who may not take paper scrip, and you’ll be shopping with a circle of merchants who care about giving back to the communities they serve.

How do I manage my account?

Once you are logged in, you can access account management from my eScrip. The organizations you currently support can be viewed and modified, and you can select up to three to support at a time. You can manage your personal information and preferences, and you will find a statement that shows all of your eScrip earnings and purchases for the month. This statement allows you to track all of your own purchases and see the total earned by all supporters of that organization year to date.

Why should I register my credit cards or debit cards?

Because it makes a huge difference! On average, eScrip members that add credit/debit cards to the program earn 50% more for their school or group than members who only register a grocery loyalty card.

What cards does the eScrip program accept for sign up/registration?

Grocery loyalty cards (rewards cards, club cards, community cards), Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners and debit cards. Some merchants only earn with certain cards. Check our merchant list for details.

How will I know which of my cards have been registered?

Login to your my eScrip account to access Account Management. Select “Add or Edit Cards” to view or modify registered cards.

Can I have family members register their cards?

Yes, our merchants include participants from across the United States. You simply send your family and friends to escrip.com to register online.

Can I register my spouse's card under my name?

Yes you can. You may list all household family cards under one supporter ID. If both spouses have the same credit card number, you only need to list it once. If you have different card numbers, list all card numbers in your account that you want to use to track purchases in the program.

Can members support more than one organization?

Yes, the donation can be split up to three ways. You can select up to 3 schools or nonprofits when you sign up, or you can manage your organization selection online anytime you like.

Monthly statements are available online by accessing My eScrip. Your organization will also receive a consolidated report showing the amount contributed in your name. Reports online are available for both group coordinators and supporters of the program.

What do I do if my password isn't working?

Shopping with eScrip Merchants

Who are the retailers signed up for the program?

eScrip’s circle of merchants include regional and local retailers from a selection of industries, usually grocery stsores. These merchants care about their communities, and they want your business. You shop with them, they pay-it-forward to your organizations. It’s a win-win.

How can merchants and retailers participate?

Where do I get a loyalty card?

Visit your local participating grocery store or drug store to apply and receive your grocery loyalty card. Then just sign up and register the card with the eScrip program; if you’ve already signed up, just add the card to your account. When making purchases, use your loyalty card at check out so we can track the purchase amount. Be sure to check the specific terms of the merchant - the url for their details is on the back of the loyalty card, or can be found in our merchant search. It is the grocery loyalty card that automatically tracks the contribution to your organization.

What about airline miles and other rewards associated with these cards?

The eScrip contributions you earn by using an eScrip registered debit or credit card have nothing to do with the benefits that may be offered by the debit/credit card provider, and you will still continue to earn these benefits from these providers. This is the beauty of registering all the cards you frequently use - you earn for your favorite group, while still earning rewards from your debit/credit card provider - a real win-win!

Will participation in the eScrip program prevent me from getting my usual club card discount?

No, all club-card or store-card discounts remain in place and run in conjunction with our program, even if you pay with a check or cash.

Are there any exclusions to purchases made on the eScrip program?

Participating merchants may have certain exclusions to purchases and payment methods. Please see the eScrip merchant list for specific details.

Why are some of the contribution percentages lower than some paper scrip percentages?

The convenient use of eScrip allows each and every purchase to be tracked for a contribution to your organization. This higher volume translates into increased earnings for organizations. And, eScrip has merchant partners who don’t offer paper scrip fundraising programs, further expanding the choices available to supporters.

Who are the retailers signed up for the program?

eScrip’s circle of merchants include major, national, regional and local retailers from a broad selection of industries. These merchants care about their communities, and they want your business. You shop with them, they pay-it-forward to your organizations. It’s a win-win.
